Journey of Happiness Group – From Hostel Challenges to a Growing Delivery Startup!
Discover the inspiring journey of Happiness Group, a startup born from hostel struggles in 2019 that grew into a trusted delivery service across Madhya Pradesh. From groceries and food delivery to bike-taxi services, learn how their innovation, dedication during COVID-19, and support from Spark Incubation Center & Incubation Masters shaped their success.
The story of Happiness Group began in late 2018 and early 2019 inside a small hostel far from the main city—a place where getting basic groceries felt like a daily challenge. As engineering students without personal transport, travelling to the market was not just tiring but a major time drain. Realising that many other students and residents faced the same difficulty, the team decided to think beyond complaints and start solving the problem like true engineers.
That spark of an idea took shape on 16 June 2019, when Happiness Group officially launched its first service: delivering groceries and vegetables directly to customers. Orders came through calls and messages, and deliveries were completed personally by the founders. As they interacted closely with people, they understood one thing clearly—delivery itself was a massive unmet need. And so, by late 2019, the team stepped into food delivery as well.
Then came the unexpected turning point: COVID-19. While the world went into lockdown, the young team chose service over profit. They delivered food, medicines, and essentials across the city free of charge, becoming the only group actively helping residents without any commercial intent. Their selfless work earned them widespread trust and recognition, with multiple features and felicitations from local newspapers and journalists.
In early 2021, they launched the Happiness India mobile application—bringing structure, data tracking, and scalability for the very first time. As orders increased, so did their ambition. They expanded into nearby cities, diversified services, and even introduced bike-taxi transportation within Jhabua, making travel easy and affordable for thousands of residents.
Today, guided by continuous customer feedback, Happiness Group is preparing to roll out a more advanced app with a better interface and enhanced features. Their mission is clear: expand across Madhya Pradesh and deliver happiness to every doorstep.
A crucial part of this growth story is their association with the startup ecosystem. Through the support and exposure gained from Spark Incubation Center, managed by Incubation Masters IM Private Limited in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, the team strengthened their business understanding, streamlined their operations, and connected with mentors who helped refine their vision for scale.
From hostel rooms to serving entire cities, Happiness Group stands as a powerful example of how real problems inspire real innovation—and how determination, empathy, and the right ecosystem can turn a simple idea into a transformative startup journey.
